JO HAIGH

Jo Haigh is a partner in fds Corporate Finance Services, with bases in London, Birmingham and Yorkshire, and a partner in the fds Group, a specialist training and development business.

An experienced dealmaker, Jo specialises in putting together the right deal at the right time and in the right format for growing businesses throughout the country. She has bought and sold over 300 companies in the last 20 years specialising in owner-managed companies.

She is a regular presenter for the Institute of Directors on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions. As Partner of fds - a highly successful training and consultancy organisation she founded at the start of the 90's, she has held circa 40 + Non Executive roles over that period in companies across the country and helped many businesses through successful transactions. She has sold 3 of her own companies and undertaken 2 personal MBO's.

She is a Visiting Fellow at The University of Leeds where she delivers the Corporate Governance development programme for all academic staff wishing to hive off new companies, in addition to training and developing Non Executive Directors appointed to University Companies whose role is to represent University interests.

She is currently Non Executive Director of 6 companies; Anchor Magnets Ltd, Sticky Content Ltd, Talent Training and Talent services Holding Ltd, TPD Corporate Finance and Imperative Training Ltd. She also sits on the board for the Angelus Advisory Group.

CHARLOTTE MASON (Charlie)

Charlotte advises high growth businesses. She has a wide range of experience; from the Director of an angel investment network to mentoring at several organisations including the Astia Entrepreneur Programme, Atlantic Accelerator, Rockstar Mentoring Group, Springboard, Seedcamp and the Cherie Blair Foundation. Observing market opportunity, she has subsequently co-founded three businesses that service high growth companies.

An INSEAD Executive MBA, Charlotte also holds a Masters in Manufacturing Engineering & Management and has 12-yrs IT professional services global experience. In this field, she headed a board-level turnaround programme for a failing £46m IT consultancy employing 450 people in 6 offices. Under Charlotte's leadership the company moved EBITDA from 0.7% (£300k) to 6% (£2.4m) within 12-months. Within 18-months the firm was on track to achieve 10% (£4m) EBITDA.

Being a regular presenter on high growth businesses, Charlotte has lectured Entrepreneurship "how to pitch for investment" at Cambridge University, is a mentor to the London Business School Entrepreneurship Summer School, and a judge at the Business Venture Competition at INSEAD. Recently, she has taught at Ford Open Prison and presented to 60 members of a London based youth club (14 yrs to 30 yrs) - encouraging entrepreneurship and providing insight to raising early stage venture finance. In addition, she belongs to NXD Services, is an active member of INSEAD Alumni and Co-Chair of the INSEAD UK Alumni Entrepreneur Group. She has also organised events for UKTI to connect start-ups to the investment community.
